Our little brown-eyed girl! You breathed life into a room with your very presence. Your energy drew us near to you and your rich golden smile captivated our hearts. You pulled us into your glowing world of immediate action with "I'm ready! Let's go!" New snow had fallen that clear sunny day at Snowbird and so you spent the afternoon doing what you loved most.
Lindsay Lee Wilkinson, 19, died in an automobile accident on January 11, 2001 at the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon. She was born May 25, 1981 to Thomas Hanks and Maureen Cutler Wilkinson. Lindsay attended Clayton Jr. High and graduated from East High School in 1999. Outdoor sports were Lindsay's life. An avid soccer player, she loved playing forward and halfback for her club soccer team the Firebirds, taking state numerous times. She also loved playing on the East High's championship soccer teams. Lindsay enthusiastically enjoyed snow boarding, mountain biking, long boarding, running, and wake boarding.
Lindsay truly loved people and she was loved by her many friends and family. Her strength and determination will long be remembered. She was a member of the Monument Park 1st Ward.
Lindsay is survived by her parents, Tom and Maureen Wilkinson; sister Hilary; brothers Sam and Andrew; grandparents, Dal Cutler, Mabel Jean Wilkinson, Clayton F. Wilkinson (Roene); and many loving uncles, aunts and cousins. She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Louise Hancock Cutler; and two aunts, Vicky Lee Cutler and Sandra Jean Cutler.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 15, 2001 at 12 noon at the Bonneville Stake Center, 1535 East Bonneview Drive (1500 East, 1050 South) Salt Lake City. Friends may call Sunday evening at 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 South, and Monday at the ward from 10:30 to 11:40 a.m. Interment Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
"Waiting for an angel, one to carry me home. Hope you'll come see me soon 'cause I don't want to go alone."
