Cause of death cancer.
Mrs Carrie Hanna Childress, 71 World War Gold Star Mother, died Saturday at a local hospital. Survivors are her husband James Harris Childress; five daughters, Mrs Tom Jackson of Elgin, Mrs Alice Lovell and Mrs Eythel Blocker of Austin, Mrs Evelyn Henricks of Goosecreek and Mrs L. T. Shaw of New London; three sons R. G. Childress, Scotty Childress and Raymond Childress all of Austin.
The funeral cortege will leave Hyltin-Manor Funeral Home Sunday at 1:30 pm and go to Haynie Chapel Cemetery in Garfield where service will be held at 2:00 pm with the Rev E. L. Sparks of the East Avenue Baptist Church officiating.
Pallbearers will be Joe Blocker, Marvin Childress, Rufus Teague, Roy McKenzie, Ted Hartgrove and Verlon Ingram.
