Mrs. Brous died Thursday following an illness of three months duration. Interment will be in the family plot at River View cemetery with Rev. James Sykes, pastor of University Park Congregational church, officiating.

Mrs. Brous resided at 1429 S. W. 14th avenue. Survivors include a daughter, Lealah Van Vlerah, Portland, and a son, Elmo P. Brous of Vernonia, Or.

Mrs. Brous's mother was a member of a party which landed more than a century ago at Linnton, at the end of a long journey by barge down the Columbia River.

In November, 1945, a stone and bronze memorial was unveiled by two of the doctor's grandchildren at McBride school, St. Helens, first of a series of permanent monuments to be set up along the route of the Old Oregon Trail.
