Funeral services for George M. Barney, 59, of Leesville were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, in Hixson Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville, Revs. Jerry Penfield and Gil Arthur officiated. Burial followed in Leesville Cemetery. Mr. Barney died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007, in Willis-Knighton Medical Center in Shreveport. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He is survived by his wife of Leesville; three daughters; mother of Leesville; sister of Lexington, Ky.; and 10 grandchildren.
