RITES HELD FOR MRS. BEARDEN

Mrs Sallie Bearden, 88, died at the Roland Nursing Home at
11:00 a.m. Friday in Loraine, Texas.
Born in Van Zandt County, July 17, 1877. she had lived in Colorado City 45 years and was a member of the 22nd and Austin Church of Christ.
Funeral services were held in Kiker and Son Chapel in Colorado City at 4 p.m. Saturday with Roy Holland, minister officiating.
Survivors are three sons, Claude and Melvin of Colorado City,
and Elmer of Alamogordo, N. M; one daughter, Mrs. Beatrice
Sears of Midland: three step-daughters, Mrs. J.C. Franklin,
Midland, Mrs. O. H. Robinson of Van and Mrs. Robert McKenzie
of Dallas.
She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 25 great grand-
children and one great-great grandchild.
She was buried between the graves of her two children by a
prior marriage: Willie Virgil Murphy and Lena Murphy.
