Janet Elaine Barr, age 43, of Kendallville, passed away unexpectedly on Monday morning at her home in Kendallville. Mrs. Barr was born in Huntington, Indiana on February 27, 1964 to Delbert and Judy (Hunicutt) Smith.
She graduated from Van Wert High School in 1982 and was employed with The Kendallville Pizza Hut and the Cole Center Family YMCA. Janet also helped out in the school cafeteria at St. John Lutheran School where her children attend. She was a member of South Milford Church of Christ.
Survivors include: Daughter, Dezaray Barr of Kendallville. Son, Joshua Barr of Kendallville. Father and step mother, Delbert and Janet Smith of Van Wert, Ohio. Mother and step father, Judy and Gale McMahan of Athens, Alabama. Sister, Kimberly Ellis of Durham, North Carolina. Brother, Rod and Candy Smith of Convoy, Ohio. Sister, Julie and Lonnie Ritchie of Elkmont, Alabama. Sister, Pam Smith of Van Wert, Ohio. Brother, Mike and Tammy Smith of Oakwood, Illinois. Many nieces and nephews.
