Nevered married or had children, he loved to farm
and meet with the local friends each night in the Cafe for
Coffee and conversation. Floyd was a content person worked not only his own farm but helped other farmers out and was always good natured.
Floyd stood almost 6.2 bald wore glass's,and from what I was told still had his original teeth in his elderly years.
He rode horse's to school his whole life and buried Model A car in his early days in the pond behind his farm house. I remember Floyd saying he wish he had that car know, he sell it for what people pay for cars these days.

Mr. Ashby died Friday, Oct. 23, 1992, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was born Nov. 21, 1902, in Baldwin to Henry Silas and Elizabeth Ann Baker Ashby.

Mr. Ashby attended grade school at No. 10 School in southern Douglas County and graduated from Baldwin High School in 1923. He followed the wheat harvest for several years, helping cut wheat all the way to Montana. Mr. Ashby started farming at the age of 7 to help support his family after the death of his father. He continued to farm at the family farm where he was born and raised until several months ago.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Baldwin.
