Death of Mrs. Aycock

Our people were shocked Tuesday
to receive word that Mrs. Mary D.
Aycock had died at the home of her
son, G. W. Aycock, at Murray, Ky.
Mrs. Aycock had been in poor
health for several years past and it
was in the hope that her health might
be improved that she departed for
Kentucky, about two weeks ago,
accompanied by her son, Mr. C. B.
Aycock. But the change of climate
proved of no avail, and last week
word was received by her son here
that her demise was expected, and he
departed for her bedside on Monday
last, reaching there in time to comfort
her in her dying moments.
Mrs. Aycock was born in Henry
County, Tenn., and was 60 years of
age when death claimed her. In 1866
she was married in her native county
to J. F. Aycock. There are three
children left, they being C. B. Aycock
and Mrs. E. C. Scillion of this place
and G. W. Aycock, of Murray, Ky.
Deceased was one of our oldest and
most highly respected settlers, having
resided in Missouri for over thirty
years. She had been a consistent
member of the Christian church since
The remains were brought to
Charleston on Wednesday and interred in
the I. O. O. F. cemetery, the pastor
of the Methodist church of that city
conducting the services.

Mrs. D. M. Aycock of East
Prairie, Mo., died Monday night
at the home of her son, Geo.
Aycock, of this place. She had
been here visiting about a week
and was taken ill Monday morning
very suddenly and only
survived a few hours. Heart trouble,
of which she had been a sufferer
of some time, caused her death.
Mrs. Aycock was a native of
Henry county, Tenn., and was
about 60 years of age.

Kentucky does not have death certificates
for the year 1907.

Mary Dallas was the daughter of Wilbur 'Wilie' Potts & Catharine A. (Floyd) Potts.
I have not been successful locating where they are buried.
