Birth: Apr. 18, 1858
Obion County
Tennessee, USA
Death: Apr. 15, 1943
Donley County
Texas, USA

Son of James A. and Catherine Ann Trainum Talley. (John Bell Talley, his brother, was my maternal great grandfather; he moved from TN to Palo Pinto County, TX and raised his family there). Robert W. was the youngest of six children; besides John Bell, there was William Henry, James Jones, Nancy, and Q. Victoria Talley.

Robert's father, James, was killed in the Fort Pillow Massacre April 1864 when he was only 8 years old. His mother died in 1876 and is buried in Obion Co., TN. (Robert's middle name Wilson came from his maternal grandmother Elizabeth I. Wilson Trainum)

Robert married Mary Jane Fuller before 1880 in TN. He was the father of seven daughters, the first of whom, Virginia, lived less than one year and was buried near her grandmother in Obion Co. The surviving six were Lula, Hattie, Nora, Anna, Maye, and Helen Talley.
