ANDREW "RED" B. NANKERVIS A resident of Oakland, CA for over 60 years, passed away peacefully in his home in Lincoln, CA. His death came after a long battle with lung cancer. He was the loving husband for 60 years of Lillian M. Nankervis who preceded his death on March 8, 1995 in Oakland, CA. Born in Jackson, CA on June 21, 1912 as the son of the late Matthew Nankervis and Mary Jane Nankervis-Mortlock. His sole survivor is his only daughter, Judith L. Frost of Lincoln, CA, who was by his side when he succumbed. He was preceded in death by his brother Willard M. Nankervis of Grass Valley, CA. "Red" spent his younger years in Grass Valley, CA where he met his wife Lillian and they were married in Oakland on February 15, 1936. In 1999 he moved to Lincoln, CA where he spent his last few years living next door to his daughter, Judi and her husband, Steve Frost. His retirement from Smith-Corona Marchant 25 years ago provided him the opportunity to enjoy several years of travel, gardening, bowling and cooking. He was also an active member of the Alameda CA "Seniors in Retirement." He will definitely be remembered for his "apple pies, apple cakes, zucchini bread, and his tomato and flower gardens. No services will be held. He will be laid to rest with his wife, Lillian, at Mountain View Cemetery in Oakland.
