Carl Griffin Robertson, 85, of India Road, Paris Route 2, retired supervisor of the L & N Railroad, died Sunday morning at Henry County General Hospital. Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity United Methodist Church with Revs. W. A. "Dub" Nance of Germantown and Jack L. Dickerson of Paris officiating. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery. McEvoy Funeral Home has charge. Visitation was to begin at 10 a.m. today. Names as pallbearers were Murry L. Hopkins, Delmer Owens, Coby Irby, Doyle Brewer, Odell Gaddy and Telus Calyton.
A native of Boyle County, KY, Robertson was born Oct. 4, 1899, a son of the late Lemuel(Mercer) and (Kizzie)Catherine (Powell) Robertson. He was married April 14, 1919, to the former Nelle Lee Drugan, who survives. He was a charter member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. He was made a Kentucky Colonel on the staff of Gov. Wendell H. Ford of Kentucky and a Tennessee Aide-de-Camp on the staff of Gov. Lamar Alexander. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. W.A. (Elizabeth) Nance of Germantown and Carleen (Chick) Robertson of Paris; a son, Charles L. Robertson of Dallas, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Annie Fox of Louisville, KY; six grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Two sister and two brothers preceded him in death.
