END COMES AFTER PERIOD OF ILLNESS -- RITES WEDNESDAY
Death brought an end to a long period of illness for Mrs. Henry R. Allen, 77, this morning. She succumbed in her home, 1309 Fourteenth avenue. She had been confined to her bed for the past 10 days and had been ill for more than three months.
Mrs. Allen's maiden name was Ella Wells. She was born in Jefferson, Ill., April 15, 1854, the daughter of Otis and Harriet Scherard Wells. Her family moved to Jordan township where she attended the rural schools.
She was married in 1874 to John Trickel, who died in 1898, and on Dec. 25, 1900, to Henry R. Allen. Surviving are the widower, one sister, Mrs. Lellis Connery, Cody, Neb., and a brother, Clarence Wells, Jordan township.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Wednesday afternoon in Shriner brothers undertaking parlors and at 2 o'clock in the Grace Lutheran church. Rev. C. H. Walter will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.
