LANDO -- Mrs. Ella McGarity Hefner, 85, died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2005, at White Oak Manor. The funeral will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Lando Church of God, with the Rev. Edward Harris officiating. Burial will be at Lando Cemetery. A native of Lando, Mrs. Hefner was a daughter of the late James Henderson McGarity and Anna Proctor McGarity. She was a member of Lando Church of God. She was the widow of Manuel B. Hefner. Surviving are two sons, Jack Hefner of Lando and Johnny Hefner of Lancaster; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Hefner. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel in Rock Hill.
