Martha was the daughter of Charles and Leah Jerrett of Somerset, England who emigrated to the United States in 1858 and settled in Sterling Valley, Cayuga County, New York.

Mrs. Martha A. Flack

Mrs. Martha A. Flack, widow of David Flack, life-long resident of the town of Sterling, died Monday evening [April 12, 1931] at the home of her son, Herbert Flack, Sterling, after an illness of five months. Mrs. Flack was a member of the Methodist church, Oswego Center, and was well known in Sterling, where she passed her life.

She leaves three sons, Herbert Flack, Floyd and George Flack of Sterling; four daughters, Mrs. Ethel Woodworth, Phoenix, N.Y.; Mrs. Emma Hall, Mrs. Nellie Dennismore [Dunsmoor] and Mrs. Hazel Longley of Sterling; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie McAnaney of this city, and Mrs. Emma Marah of Sterling; also 30 grandchildren and one [great] grandchild. Funeral will be held at the home of her son, Herbert Flack, Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Interment will be made in Rural Cemetery.

The Rev. George Cowan, pastor of the Baptist church of South West Oswego, officiated at the funeral this afternoon of Mrs. Martha A. Flack, widow of David Flack, held from the home of her son, Herbert Flack, in the town of Sterling at 2:30 o'clock. Interment was made in Rural Cemetery. The bearers were Elmer Parkhurst, Ernest Dunsmore [Dunsmoor], Howard Ireland, Howard Wheeler, Lee Irwin and Edward Dunsmore [Dunsmoor].
