R.W. Beck, Engineer
Rosary for Robert W. Beck, of 1100 University St., founder and managing partner of the R.W. Beck & Associates, will be said at 9 p.m. today at Butterworth's chapel. Funeral services were held this morning at the Fairmount Mortuary, Denver.
Funeral services also will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at St. James' Cathedral, with burial in Holyrood. He died Monday in a Denver hospital.
A native of Chicago, Mr. Beck had lived here since the 1920s. He had worked for Seattle City Light, and was influential in the formation and operation of the public utility districts in Washington and Nebraska. He founded his company, a national analytical and consulting engineering firm, in 1942. Besides Seattle, the firm has offices in Denver, Phoenix, Columbus, Neb., Orlando, Fla. and Boston.
Mr. Beck was an Army veteran of World War I. He was a member of the Elks, the Nebraska Engineering Society, the National Society of Professional Engineers, the Society of American Military Engineers and was a fellow in the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.
Mr. Beck is listed in Who's Who in Engineering, Who's Who in the West and Who's Who in Science and Industry.
Surviving are his wife, Roberta, and three sons, John, Donald and Robert Beck, all of Los Angeles.
