Gussie Laperia Sorensen, age 85 of Everson, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, January 17.

Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, Jan 21, at 1 p.m. in Nooksack Cemetery with Rev. Grant Fishbook officiating. The family extends an invitation to join them for an old fashion potluck following the service at the old Glen Echo School, Goodwin and South Pass roads.

The daughter of Gust and Iva (Davis) Dahlgren, Gussie was born near Everson on August 1, 1920. She was married to Belford Sorenson on May 11, 1940, and lived in the Everson area her entire life.

She was a member of the Nooksack United Methodist Church and for the past number of years was a faithful viewer of Dr. Robert Shulers broadcast. A homemaker, she was also a caregiver to many people in the community and active at the Welcome Senior Center.

Memorials may be made to the Whatcom Hospice Foundation; 800 E. Chestnut St.; Bellingham, WA. 98225.

Services are under the care of Gillies Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Lynden.
