ANNA B. WAECKEL Age 89 of Pennsauken, NJ for 80 years.
On June 4, 2003 at Harlee Manor Nursing Home, Springfield, PA. Born in Phila., PA.
Daughter of the late August and Anna Rosenblatt Waeckel.
She was a secretary for US Navy at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard.
After discharge from active duty Miss Waeckel returned to Germany as a civilian government employee of the occupying US Army.
She attended University of Pennsylvania.
She was a veteran of the US Army (WAC) during WWII atttaining rank of Staff Sergeant.
Miss Waeckel received the World War II Victory Medal; the Good Conduct Medal; the European- African Middle Eastern Service Medal with one Bronze Star; the American Service Medal; the Meritorious Service Medal and the WAAC Service Ribbon.
Miss Waeckel was known for her devotion to the stray animals she adopted & her emphasis on & committment to continuing education for her family.
Survivors are: nieces & caregivers, Joyce Holleman, Patricia Quinlan (James), Marguerite Boraske (George) and Karen O'Neill (Thomas). One nephew: George Waeckel (Barbara). Also survived by seventeen great neices & nephews & 1 great great nephew.
Service 10AM Tuesday at WHITE-LUTTRELL FUNERAL HOME 311 N. Swarthmore Avenue, Ridley Park, PA.
Visitation after 9AM at the funeral home.

She was a great lady that I and my mother got to know as Paula Waeckel was her relative.
She lived on Springfield Ave in Pennsauken, NJ.
