Veteran of Civil War Dies Tuesday. Wm. Albright Served in the Union Army during the War Between the States.
Wm. Albright, veteran of the Civil War, died at the Soldiers Home at Quincy, Ill., Tuesday. He was 89 years of age and had been ill but a few days. The infirmities of old age were mainly responsible for his death.
Mr. Albright was born in Caswell county, Illinois Dec. 22nd 1939. When the war between the states broke out he enlisted in the 115th regiment of Illinois volunteers and served for a long period in the Union Army. Soon after the close of the war, in 1871, he came to Clarence and made his home here until about five years ago when he went to the Home at Quincy.
While still living in Illinois, he married Flora Chivlor. She died about six years ago. Their children were: Merrill and Pete of Clarence, Fred of Moline, Ill., Ernest of Quincy, James of Kansas City, and Mrs. J. H. Irwin, of Scott City, Kansas.
The body way brought to Clarence Wednesday and the funeral services will be held at Hopper's Funeral Parlor at 10 o'clock Thursday morning. Burial in Maplewood Cemetery.
