Marriage, Clarence Leroy Harbaugh, March 11, 1939, Hagerstown, Washington County, MD.

Mrs. Fannie Belle (Fitz) Harbaugh, 89, a resident of Quincy Village,Quincy, PA, and formerly of 12091 Broad St., Rouzerville, PA, died at 6:30 A.M., Tuesday, July 29, 2008, in the nursing home. She was in failing health for the past several years and critically ill for the past two weeks.

Born September 17, 1918 near Rouzerville, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Nora Belle (Hess) Fitz. She was a life long resident of Washington Township and the Rouzerville area.

Mrs. Harbaugh graduated as valedictorian of her class at Washington Township High School, class of 1937.

She and her late husband, Mr. Clarence Leroy Harbaugh, were married on March 11, 1939 in Hagerstown, MD. They moved to their Broad Street home in October, 1939. Mr. Harbaugh died April 22, 2000. Mrs. Harbaugh entered the nursing home October 8, 2002.

Mrs. Harbaugh enjoyed taking care of her family and home and served as custodian at the Church of the Apostles United Church of Christ, Waynesboro. She also was a cook at the Waynesboro Daycare Center for several years.

In her early life she was a member of the Harbaugh Reformed Church near Rouzerville, and then became a member of the Church of the Apostles United Church of Christ, Waynesboro and presently of Rouzerville United Methodist Church. While she was a member of the Church of the Apostle's she taught Sunday School for a number of years and was a member of Women's Guild of the church. She was also a member of National A.A.R.P., Wayne Heights Homemakers Club, she served on the Republican Committee of Franklin County, volunteered with the American Red Cross Blood Mobile, was a Girl Scout Leader and served on the Penn Laurel Girl Scouts Board for twenty five years.

She is survived by three daughters: Betty M. Carson, The Villages of Florida, Jean A. Rosenberger, Waynesboro, Sara J. Hollinshead, Greencastle; two sons: Earl K. Harbaugh, St. Charles, IL, Ray A. Harbaugh, Waynesboro; 14 grandchildren, 19 great- grandchildren; two sisters: Arlene E. Patterson, Waynesboro, Jennie A. Harbaugh, Greencastle; two brothers: Andy S. Fitz, and Ralph H. Fitz, both of Waynesboro; and a several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson: Kevin J. Hollinshead, a brother: John Fitz; two half sisters: Naomi Carson, Ruth Heffner and a half brother, Merle Fitz.
