Oscar Albright was the son of John Wesley Albright and Zerelda Caledonia "Callie" Guthrie.

Oscar managed the family farm. He was also a skilled bass fiddle player. A member of Dr. Humphrey Bate's Possum Hunter's Band, he was in one of the earliest bands playing at the Grand Ole Opry. The Possum Hunters recorded some of their music and were mentioned in Billboard Magazine.
