AKERS, MARTHA LYNN, age 81, of Okolona, returned to her Heavenly Father on Christmas Day, Monday, December 25, 2006.
She was a former member of Beechmont Baptist Church and a member of Highview Baptist Church. Mrs. Akers was retired from the University of Louisville.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Lea Anne Hartman (Norman); a son, Kevin L. Akers; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Doris Tribbey (James); and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Services for Mrs. Akers will begin 11 a.m. on Thursday at Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks, Preston Highway at Brooks Road, where friends and family may kindly visit from 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Highview Baptist Church or Hospice of Louisville.
