Mass murderer. Convicted of planting 25 sticks of dynamite in his mother's (Daisy Walker King [1902-1955]) luggage for her flight (United Flight 629) to Portland, Oregon-the motive was to collect a $37,500 flight insurance policy and to inherit a substantial estate. The United DC-6B was destroyed on November 1, 1955, near Longmont, Colorado, and was the first verified sabotage of a United States commercial airliner. Forty four passengers and crew perished in the explosion and crash. Graham was sentenced to be executed in the gas chamber at the Colorado State Prison.
