Marguerite W. Alexander, 86, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010, at Heritage Health Care in Globe, Ariz. Marguerite was one of 14 children.
Marguerite met and married Dave at a young age; they had eight children and adopted two boys after their children were grown and provided a home to more than three hundred children during their marriage. Dave died in 1989, and Marguerite continued to help others.
She never saw a stranger, she helped all in need, offering them shelter, food, clothing, both young and old. She helped find jobs for people and made sure that they made it to work each day; she even got them out of bed. Although Marguerite did not work at an outside job, she took in washings and ironings for people. She never hesitated to help someone clean their house, take them to get groceries, drive them to school or run errands for them.
Marguerite believed in the golden rule, do unto others as you would have them do unto you. She was always the first to do a nice thing for others. Heaven is certainly richer now. God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage.
Marguerite leaves behind in loving memory her children, David Alexander of Casa Grande, Priscilla Knuckey-Ralls of Globe, Jane (Dale) Hancock of Queen Creek, Robert (Sandy) Alexander of Little Acres, Dolly (Jim) Le Compte of Claypool, Frank (Rose) Alexander of Prescott, Hazel (Keith) Dillon of Globe, Jerry (Carla) Alexander of Claypool, Richard Alexander of Mesa and Randy Alexander of Florence; 22 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and six great great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the Boys & Girls Club, Community Kids, the Food Bank, or The Salvation Army.
Funeral services for Marguerite will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Miles Funeral Services Globe Chapel, at 237 S. Sutherland St., in Globe. Interment will be at Globe Cemetery, Hackney Avenue.
Funeral arrangements for Marguerite W. Alexander were entrusted to Miles Funeral Services Globe.
