MRS. M.J. ALLEN PASSES AWAY
Mrs. M.J. Allen, mother of H.A. White of the City Drug Store, and for twenty-six years a resident of Bellingham, died yesterday afternoon at the residence of her son, her demise being caused by an aneurism.
She was one of the most widely acquainted of the pioneer women in the city, and was known and liked by every old-timer in Bellingham.
Mrs. Allen's only relative in the city is H.A. White, but she has a daughter, Mrs. Leonell Greenway, in Seattle, and several other relatives in the East and South. Mrs. Allen came here from Kansas in 1883.
Her first husband was Anson White (1827-1864)
They married 16 Feb 1853 in Fulton TWP.,Rock Co., Wisconsin
Anson White was killed in action in a preliminary skirmish in the Battle of Atlanta during the American Civil War. He was a volumteer private in Company K; Wiconsin 32nd regiment infantry.
Her second husband was Joseph H. Allen
They married 24 Oct 1867 in Lowville, Columbia Co.,Wisconsin
Joseph Allen divorced Mary Jane Kidder on 25 Jun 1886, at Hendrean, South Dakota.
