He was born Nov. 14, 1911, in New London, the son of James and Minnie Colton Schindall. He married Beatrice Mears, Feb. 2, 1934, in Kahoka, Mo..
He was a structural steel worker for Murray Iron Works, member of Iron Workers Local 577, and a Protestant.
Surviving: the wife; son, Richard, Bettendorf; daughter, Mrs. Sharyn Upton, Kimberly, Idaho; sister, Mrs. Florence Miller, Burlington; five grandchildren.
