Miss Heather Cherith Ashworth, age 21, passed away on March 15, 2006 at a local medical center.

Heather was born in Floyd County, Georgia on May 21, 1984 and was the beloved and cherished daughter of Gary and Melita Pruett Ashworth, loving sister of Autumn Ashworth and Heath and Amanda Ashworth. She had lived all of her life in Floyd County and Cave Spring and was a member of Mountain Home Baptist Church where she taught the "Cubbies" in the AWANA program and sang. Heather graduated with honors in 2002 from Coosa High School where she sang four years in Concert Choir and earned several medals. She was a 2004 graduate of Coosa Valley Technical College with a Medical Office Specialist degree and also a certificate in Electrocardiology. She was employed by Southeastern Cardiovascular Institute. Heather was a very special daughter and sister who was loved by all who knew her. She put everyone above herself. She loved serving the Lord and witnessing to people. She was the "perfect fiancée" (according to Justin!) and was looking forward to marrying "the love of her life". Heather was a truly devoted Christian servant who loved her family, her friends, her "kids" at church in the AWANA program, her job at SCI and coworkers. Her friends and "little sisters" always came to her for advice or help. Heather was loved by many and was always concerned and prayed for others. She loved to sing and play the piano. She will be remembered for the piano and voice recital performances. Heather loved to collect "Precious Moments" Figurines and books, Bible markers, angels, Carebears and other stuffed animals. Photos of special people / events framed her room. She also loved fishing, usually catching more fish than anyone else! Heather will be remembered for her meekness, faithfulness, and determination; that infectious laugh and smile; those dark brown eyes that seemed as if they could look right through you; her unshakable belief in Jesus and her passion to win the lost!

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, L.B. ("Papa") and Margaret ("Muv")Pruett, formerly of Gadsden, AL and J.C. Ashworth, Rock Run, AL; her only aunt, Naydean Gilley, Rock Run, AL and her only uncle, Rodger Pruett, Gadsden, AL.

Survivors include her fiancé, Justin Keener Wilson of Gadsden, AL; parents, Gary and Melita (Pruett) Ashworth; brother and sister-in-law, Heath and Amanda Ashworth; sister, Autumn Elysabeth Ashworth, all of Cave Spring; grandmother, Bonnie Ashworth of Centre, AL; uncle, Donnie Gilley; first cousins, Lynn Gilley, Larry Gilley and sons, Dalton and Drake Gilley, all of Rock Run, AL; special "aunts"- Gloria Blankenship, Brenda Mount and Nancy Fricks, all of Cave Spring; godmother, Glenda Wiggins, Cedartown, GA. Also surviving are extended family members, Ken and Nancy Wilson, Andrew Wilson and Johnny and Helen Wilson, all of Gadsden; many friends, including: Stephanie, Kaci, Megan, Brandi, Alison, Valerie, Lesli, Lauren, Laura, SCI coworkers, Autumn's friends (little sisters); coworkers at Rolater Lake in Cave Spring; Savannah, AWANA coworkers; MHBC ball teams, MHBC youth and young people; "Cubbies" -Roy Alvah, Emily, Russell Ty, Haven, Blake and many others. We will miss her. But remember- we will see her again- if we know Jesus as our Lord and Savior!

Heather was a "miracle" in action: she lived like each day was a gift--always telling us "I love you" when she left for work, "I love you" with daily lunch break phone calls, and then again at night on her way to bed. Many times other parents would allow their kids to go places because they knew if Heather was going, then her convictions would help their kids stay out of trouble. Her advice wasn't always taken -- but she warned of the consequences anyway! We always called her "little mother", because she was so concerned about everyone -- whatever the age! She might have been petite, but she carried a lot of "weight" with her wisdom. Her wisdom came by Faith, through Grace, trusting in the Lord. Her testimony was "to live is die is gain. For the glory of Christ, I'll lay down everything that I've been given...all my hopes and my ambitions...for what He wants for me.....And it's my prayer that I would live each day in such a way...that in all I do I would bring Him praise" (from the song: "For the Glory of Christ"). And we know that because she surrendered to Christ, she is truly FREE!!! HEATHER...OUR ANGEL, OUR LOVE... WE WILL SEE YOU AS SOON AS GOD ALLOWS....BUT UNTIL THEN, WE WILL CARRY ON; WE WILL PASS THE TORCH...because now, we "have a passion in our hearts we've never known makes us love Him more.." and because He gave His life to give us Eternal Life, we will serve Him until we are allowed to see the city of gold..across the river..where we'll live eternally!! Heaven gets sweeter and sweeter!
