Cynthia Mae Ridenour Ayers, 90 of the Stinking Creek Community, Pioneer, passed away Nov. 15 at St. Mary's Health and Rehab in LaFollette. She was a member of the Stinking Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Lee Ayers; parents, William F. "Will" and Martha J. Huddleston Ridenour; brothers, Hubert Ridenour, Charlie Ridenour, and Don Ridenour; sisters Verna Ridenour Campbell, Mary Ridenour Hatmaker, and Matilda Ridenour Kenner Walden.
She is survived by her daughter, Lois Jean Ayers Douglas and husband, Roy of Pioneer; son, Roger Lee and wife, Janice Keck Ayers of LaFollette; grandchildren, Rodney Douglas and wife, Judy and Romney Douglas and wife, Audrey, all of Pioneer, Kimberly Cupp and husband, Marvin of Knoxville, Michelle McCreary and husband, Danny of LaFollette, and Krista England and husband, Terry of LaFollette; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Cecil "Riley" Ridenour of LaFollette; special friend, Opal Orick; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Nov. 17 in the Walters Chapel with her granddaughter, Kimberly Cupp, Rev. Delmus Bruce and Rev. Randall Heatherly officiating. Interment was in the Davis Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to: Alzheimer's Association, East Tennessee Chapter for Campbell County, 2200 Sutherland Ave., Knoxville, TN 37919.
Walters Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
