Death: Jan. 12, 1913
Harrison County

Died in Clay Twp.

MRS MASTERS CALLED HOME- At the old homestead four miles northeast of Cainsville, grandmother Masters passed to be forever with the Lord Jan 13, 1913. She had been ailing for some months and all was done that loving hands and hearts could suggest, but to no avail. Her husband, John Masters, died 12 years ago last October. She was the daughter of John Peterson and wife who were highly respected and lived for years about 5 miles northeast of Cainsville. She was born in Vinton County, Ohio, May 19, 1835, came to Missouri in 1855, where she was united in marriage to John S Masters. To this union 9 children were born-5 sons and 4 daughters, 2 of whom died in infancy leaving 3 sons--Edgar, Samuel, and Delbert, and 4 daughters, Mr Thos Willis, Mrs JC Washburn, and Misses Emma and Jennettie Masters, the later two remaining at the old home, all the children were present and aided in the care of their mother. She made a profession of her faith in Christ when 16 years of age. We believe that her first church home was in the United Brethren Church but for many years it has been in the M E Church. The funeral was held in the home Tuesday afternoon on account of the serious illness of one of the daughters. The writer tried to comfort the hearts of all who were present, and truly we had a sympathetic congregaton. Do we not read, "That it is better to go to the house of mirth". Beautiful hymns were tenderly rendered, and the remains of the dear old grand-mother were taken and laid beside her husband in Fairview Cemetery. Write it of her, Faithful Unto Death." God bless her loved ones and bring them all safely home, and be very near to the affective ones, is my prayer for Jesus Sakes. All her loved ones desire to thank each and all who sp kindly aided them in care and burial of their dead mother. May God reward them for their kindness.
