Otis Allen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Allen, was born March 14, 1924 near Lemons, Missouri. He grew to manhood and followed the trade of farming until two years ago when he moved to Newton, Iowa where he was employed at the Maytag Company.
He passed away at his mother's home here on May 20, 1952 at the age of 28 years, 2 months and 8 days.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his mother, Mrs. Rebecca Allen, four brothers, Perry Allen, Unionville, MO.; Walter Allen in Illinois; Jerome Allen, Unionville, MO.; and Don Allen, who is in the Navy; two sisters-in-law; two nephews, two nieces; uncles; aunts and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers.
He was a good boy and will be sadly missed by his loved ones and friends.
The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at two o’clock at the Husted Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. J. M. Monroe, pastor of the local Methodist church. The body was taken to the Friendship Cemetery, near Mendota and near the old family home, for interment.
