Miss Mildred Carmichael, age 84, of 300 Sciple Street, Rockmart, died Thursday, April 6.

Born in Polk County on October 5, 1904, Miss Carmichael was the daughter of the late Luther L. and Alma Darnell Carmichael. She was a retired school teacher and a former choir director and very active member of the First Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Anne Perkins, Rockmart; one brother, Joe Carmichael, Winter Haven, Fla.; two nephews, Phil Kerr, Rome; and Jack Perkins, Rockmart; one niece, Mrs. Jan Sanders, Rockmart.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 8, at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Homer Kimmon officiating. Interment followed in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

The pallbearers included Charles Carpenter and the elders of the First Presbyterian Church.

The Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
