Florence Amelia Campbell, 99, resident of Edinboro Manor for the past 11 years, died there Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007. She resided in Louisville, KY for 33 years until 1987, when she moved to Cambridge Springs.
Born in New Wilmington March 5, 1908, she was a daughter of the late John E Zook and Phoebe Detwiler Zook. On Aug. 8, 1925, she married Edgar Forrest Campbell, who preceded her in death Oct. 19, 1985.
A homemaker, she was a former member of Okolona Presbyterian Church in Louisville and while in Cambridge Springs was a member of First Baptist Church.
Family member surviving her include a son, Paul W Campbell and his wife, Hilda of Louisville; and two daughters, Betty Shaffer and Gerri Green and her husbank Donald, all of Cambridge Springs. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Campbell was the last surviving member of six sisters and three brothers. She was known as a verly lobing person deeply caring for her family, and a person who had a strong faith and trust in the Lord.
Friends may call at Van Matre Family Funeral Home, 335 Vanago Ave., Canbridge Springs, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
The funeral will be conducted there Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Rod Beardsley, pastor of Cambridge Springs First Baptist Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Graceland Memorial Cemetary, New Castle.
