James "Ducky" Russo was married and had one child. He and his wife lived in the Sewickley area where he had been a District Justice of 11 Boroughs and Townships of Quaker Valley School District for 27 years. His illustrious career since high school days covered many facets of law including positions of police officer, constable, a lecturer at Duquesne University Law School as well as holding many top offices in many legal organizations. The greatest highlight of Jim's career was being awarded the prestigious honor of the first attorney in Commonwealth history to be elected a President Judge. A picture of him and other members of the Court of Judicial Discipline that he shared was very impressive.
In October 2005, a stretch of the Ohio River Boulevard was named Judge James Russo.
