Mr. Dimmig was born January 17, 1925, in Sublette, Illinois, the son of Chris and Emma (Suchert)Dimmig. He was united in marriage to Dolly Jean Stickle on June 3, 1955 at the Walnut Christian Parsonage in Walnut, Illinois. He farmed in the Walnut area during his lifetime. He was a member of the Walnut United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Cleghorn Temperance Society.
He is survived by his wife, Dolly Jean Dimmig of Walnut, Illinois; two daughters, Debra Dimmig of Quincy, Illinois, and Doreen (Robert) Stampf of Jacksonville, Illinois; his son, Duff (Julie) Dimmig of Princeton, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Evinne and Harrison Dimmig of Princeton, Illinois; Elisa,Laura, Joshua, Christina, and Anna Stampf of Jacksonville, Illinois; two sisters, Betty(Dale)Renner of Walnut, Illinois and Lois(Gene)Johnson of Princeton, Illinois; one sister-in-law, Anita(Dick)Dimmig of Walnut, Illinois; two brothers, Francis Dimmig of Milton, Wisconsin, and Robert Dimmig of Walnut, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Willard and Richard Dimmig; one sister, Viola Foote.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut with the Rev. Paul Nolden, pastor of the Walnut United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Cemetery. Visistation will be held on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home. A memorial has been established in his memory to the Walnut United Methodist Church or the Walnut Fire Department.
