Eleanor was born March 28,1920 to Charles Joseph and Frances Jane Biel Suchma in Guy, Texas. She graduated from Damon High School and went to Business College in Beaumont. She worked for Ramsey Chevrolet in Wharton as a bookkeeper until moving to Rosenberg in 1947. She then worked for Joe Grillo Oldsmobile and also for White Pontiac in Rosenberg, for many years before retiring. She was a member of First Baptist Church since moving to Rosenberg, where she served faithfully until her health no longer allowed it. She was a kind and gentle lady who loved her family and loved helping others. She passed away Saturday, November 22, 2008, at the home of her daughter in Rosenberg.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Floyd F. Ward; one brother, five sisters, three half-brothers and three half-sisters.

She was survived by her sister, Anita Baxley; children, Phillip Floyd Ward and Phyllis Gayle Rosenbaum; grandchildren: Chuck Rosenbaum, Jana Perkins, Russell Rosenbaum, Dr. Phillip Ward and Brad Ward; great-grandchildren: Kris Ward, Blair Rosenbaum, Cassie Bean, Hannah Rosenbaum, Emily Rosenbaum, Darian Ward, Cole Bean, Ashton Ward, Mason Rosenbaum, Riley Perkins, Isabella Ward and Renata Ward; and other family members and friends.

Memorial Services for Eleanor were held at the First Baptist Church in Rosenberg at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 1, 2008. Cremains were later interred next to her husband Floyd Ward at the Davis-Greenlawn Cemetery in a private service.
