Wesley "Pete" Langston, 89, of Salem, son of the late Absolum Waters and Minnie Julie (Brooks) Langston, was born July 7, 1917, at Wiseman, Ark. He died Aug. 22, 2006, in Salem.

He married Norma Ray Isenhower on May 27, 1938, in Mammoth Spring. He worked as a welder for Unit Rig and Equipment Company in Tulsa, Okla. He retired and moved to Salem in 1976. He was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Salem,

Survivors include his wife, Norma Langston of Salem; a son, Jack Langston of Tulsa; a sister, Fay Giles of Salem; a grandson, Bob Langston and wife, Lori of Fort Smith, Ark.; a granddaughter, Jamie Castell and husband Edd of Tulsa; two great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters; a host of nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jerry Leon Langston; and 10 brothers.

The funeral services were held Aug. 24 at the Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem with Bro. Alan Winberry and Bro. Gary Barker officiating. Burial followed in the Salem Cemetery with arrangements by Barker Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were John Bain, Ron Helm, Scott Baker, Ray Barker, Bill Ball, Buster Cowart and Gale Kersey.
