Orig. bur. SW of Pine Mt. in a group of 11 graves belonging to the 3rd Brigade, 2nd Division, 20th Army Corps - Denning, Young, Shine, Duffy, Unknown, (#6 - body taken up by a relative), Carey, Fox, Unknown 29 PVI Co K (Wm. Darnell?), William S. Brown, Reynolds.
This Unknown is buried between John W. Fox of 149th New York and Wm. S. Brown of 137th New York.
This is possibly William Darnell who was reported KIA at Pine Knob, GA, June 15, 1864 and is not accounted for in the VA Grave Locator.
A note in the Order of Battle says that Col. Wm. Rickards, commanding 29th PA was wounded on June 15 and replaced by Major Jesse R. Millison. Therefore, records of killed and wounded were probably lost.
