Donald Wayne Parcel Sr., 82, St. Joseph, passed away Friday, Jan. 30, 2004.

Mr. Parcel was born July 1, 1921, in Ollie, Iowa, to Lester Delbert and Grace Faith (Northup) Parcel.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Navy aboard the USS Cabot. He was a hospital maintenance worker and pastor in Floris and Ottumwa, Iowa; and Kohoka and Memphis, Mo. He retired from Oakdale Hospital in 1986.

He married Donna Rae Johnson in March, 1967. She survives of the home.

Additional survivors: sons, Michael Parcel, Bob Parcel and Edward Parcel, all of Ottumwa; Phil Parcel, Independence, Mo.; and Lawrence Wayne Johnson, St. Joseph; daughters, Nancy Mendibles, Deora Olsen and Dawn Murphy, all of Ottumwa; and Susan Hunter, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 31 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; twin daughters, Connie and Donna Parcel; and son, Donnie Parcel Jr.

Mr. Parcel was buried at the Shaul Cemetery, Ottumwa, with military honors under the auspices of O.B. Nelson American Legion Post No. 3 and Walter B. Schafer Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 775.
