Thomas William Johnson Age 53, passed away on May 22, 2007 in Vancouver, Washington after a 7 month courageous battle against Pancreatic and Liver Cancer. Tom was born in Seattle, Washington on August 17, 1953 to Fletcher O. Johnson, Jr. and Marva Dawn Bingham Johnson. He spent 7 years in the U.S. Army which included 2 years in Germany patrolling the Russian border. As an SP4 he received the National Defense Service Medal; Good Conduct Medal; Expert Rifle Badge and Expert Grenade Launcher Badge. He was fascinated by trucks, cars and anything mechanical since childhood. If it had wheels, rolled and could come apart he was hooked for sure. So it was no surprise that Tom worked as a mechanic and truck driver during and after his service in the U.S. Army. He also loved computers - occasionally taking those apart also. Tom loved the great outdoors; camping, fishing and especially salmon fishing with his father every summer at Westport, WA. He is survived by his loving wife, Regina Ann, his loving parents, Fletcher and Marva Johnson, his loving and devoted sister, Cynthia L. Byers; their deep bond will live on forever. He is also survived by his three grown children from his first marriage to Cynthia Brunn; Theresa W. Rickaby of St. Francis, WI, Christina R. Hammond of Racine, WI and Daniel I. Johnson of Vancouver, WA Three grandchildren: Taylor Nicole Rickaby, Samantha Dawn Rickaby and Anna Lorraine Hammond. Tom found love a second time around when he found and married Regina - they were married on August 7, 1998 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. "Life is not a journey from cradle to grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to come skidding in sideways, bruised, battered, totally worn out, yelling "WOW" What a Ride! "Tom you are my Hero, My Heart and not a day goes by that I don't think of you. Love Sis" Our Love for you will go on forever in our hearts! Pancreatic cancer is the least funded of any of the main cancer killers and is not diagnosed until the final stages. Please consider donating to Funeral Arrangements: Evergreen Staples Funeral Chapel, Vancouver, WA 98661. Memorial Service: Saturday, June 2, 2007 @ 2:30 p.m. at LDS Church, Hazel Dell Ward, 2223 NW 99th Street, Vancouver, Washington. Military Service: Monday, June 4, 2007 @ 12:30 p.m. at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th, Kent, Washington.
