Hilla was born March 15, 1920, in Berlin, Germany, the daughter of the late Margareta and Johannes Palubitzki.

She worked for over 30 years at the PRO Corporation in Florence and was a longtime member, and choir member, of Our Lady of Annunciation Church in Florence.

Hilla was predeceased by her husband of 61 years Ernest J. Couture.

Hilla leaves behind her three daughters, Barbara M. Southwick, Madeline T. Colson and her husband Leonard, and Patricia M. Josko and her husband John, her two sons, Michael E. Couture and Gerard J. Today we lost the patriarch of the Couture clan. You are the greatest woman we ever knew. You taught us how to live, how to love and how to laugh. Without your enduring spirit none of us would be who we are today. You will be missed always and be in our hearts forever. Words can not express our sorrow. We love you Hilla Couture
