Everett Russell Barnard was the youngest son of Jonathan Barnard and Anna Bacon Barnard. He was born and raised in Tattnall County , GA but relocated Appling County ( current Bacon Co, ) around 1900. He married his first wife Mary Nettles, of Clinch County, in 1906. They had the following children:

Thelma Lucille Barnard (1906-1940 )
Annie B. Barnard (1908-1982)
Fannie C. Barnard (1909-1979 )
Mary Etter Barnard (1911-1915)
Bessie Viola Barnard (1917-1917)

Following the death of Mary Nettles, Everett married his second wife Annie Maude Purvis, daughter of Henry and Rutha Eunice Purvis in 1920. Together they had the following children:

Evylin Barnard (1924-1924

Everett R. Barnard died suddenly in 1937 of a heart attack while at work in a tobacco barn in Pierce Co., GA.

E. R. Barnard Dies At Home Near Here
Funeral services for E. R. Barnard who died Monday afternoon after an illness of two weeks at his home ten miles north west of Blackshear were held Wednesday at ten o'clock at the Beulah Missionary Church, interment in the churchyard cemetery.
Rev. Ira Failes of Bickley and Rev. Homer Swindle of Waycross officiated. Mr. Barnard was fifty-four years of age and had been a farmer all his life. He was a member of the Holiness church for a number of years.
Surviving Mr. Barnard are his wife, Mrs. Annie Purvis Barnard; ten sons and daughters, Mrs. Annie McCrutcheon; Mrs. Thelma Howard; Misses Luverne; Nora Lee; Cameron; Maggie; Dorothy; Bobby; Dora Lee Barnard of Pierce County and Mrs. N. S. Fullwood of Waycross. Three brothers: Messrs Dan Barnard of Waycross; J. B. Barnard of Claxton and Mr. A. C. Barnard of Jacksonville.

There is a mistake one his grave marker, he was born in 1882 and not in 1881
