Donald L. Kintz, 69, of West Hanover Twp., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 3, 2008 at Healthsouth Specialty Hospital, Mechanicsburg.
Born in Mechanicsburg, he was the son of the late Merle and Alma Holstine Kintz. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, April Foster.
Don retired from TRW and Chromalloy and then worked part-time at the U.S. Post Office and Hardee's in Dauphin. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of American Legion Post 272, Linglestown and also the TRW Pioneers. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed fishing, trapping and reading history books. Known as "The Parking Lot Astronomer", he published a monthly newsletter called The Starry Messenger. Don was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Marlene Y. (Salen) Kintz; two daughters, Tammy L. Foster of Hummelstown and Donna M. Parks and her husband, Michael of Camp Hill; a sister, Carol Kilpatrick of Dillsburg and three grandchildren, Amy Foster, Allen Foster and Maria Parks. He will be deeply missed by his family, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 9th, at 11 a.m., at Hoover Funeral Home 6011 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg. Burial with military honors will be at 12:30 p.m., in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. There will be a viewing on Wednesday morning from 10 a.m., until time of services.
