MRS. J.W. BROGAN,
Dies at Her Home
Tuesday, November 29.
Vail, Iowa, Nov. 30, 1932.
The many friends of Mrs. J.W. Brogan will be grieved to learn of her death which occurred at her home two miles southeast of Vail at 11:00 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 29, 1932.
Mrs. Brogan had been in rather poor health the past year, being confined to her bed at different times with heart trouble, but she never gave up and four weeks ago returned from a visit in South Dakota, where she visited many old friends and relatives as well as her son, Lloyd and family.
Two weeks ago she was again taken to her bed with rheumatic fever. All that loving hands and medical care could do was of no avail and she passed peacefully away surrounded by her family Tuesday night.
Margaret Giblin the daughter of Michael and Margaret (Mitchell) Giblin, was born in Sterling, Ill., February 11, 1875, and came to Crawford county, Iowa, in 1880. The family lived on a farm in Hayes township, six miles south of Vail.
She was united in marriage to Mr. J.W. Brogan, October 3, 1897. To this union were born nine children, all of whom survive her and who were at her bedside when she passed away. The children are, Anna and James of Chicago, Lloyd of Lantry, S. Dak., Mrs. Roy Fitzgibbons, Florence, Edna, Edward, Leonard and Orville, of Vail. She also leaves to mourn her death, on brother, Mr. T. J. Giblin, of Denison, a sister, Mrs. P.J. Cody, of Sioux City, and a brother, J.L. Giblin, of Cedar Rapids, preceded her in death twelve and fourteen years ago, respectively.
The funeral will be held at 9:00 a.m. Friday from St. Ann's church at Vail and burial in the Catholic cemetery. A requiem high mass will be celebrated by Rev. A.J. Lynott.
