He was a member of the G. A. R. and a number of secret societies, and a brother of Former City of Wilmington, DE Treasurer Joseph K. Adams.
He lived at 711 West Eighth street in Wilmington.
He served as a Private with the 4th Delaware Infantry, Company B and the 11th Pennsylvania Infantry, Company H during the Civil War.

Relatives and friends are respectuflly invited to attend the funeral services at his late residence, No. 711 West Eighth street, on Friday afternoon, September 5, at 3 o'clock. Interment private at Riverview Cemetery.
