LT Lawrence, USN, was killed in the destruction of the Navy dirigible USS SHENANDOAH (ZR-1) at Ava (an unincorporated community in northwestern Noble Township), Ohio.

Had married the former Miss Alice Baily of Washington, D.C. on 19 April 1924.
