Thomas was the son of Joseph "Joel" & a woman whose maiden name was Carlock. He had one sister, Sabra, who was two years older than him. She was married to John Ross in Maury Co, TN, on November 28, 1833.
Thomas married his first half-cousin, Virginia Jane Love, in Maury Co, TN, on November 27, 1838.
They had the following children: Joel Thomas, Samuel, John Andrew, Clara, Edom, Anna Diana, Sabra E., William James & twin sister, M,A., Lucretia A., & Thomas Houston.
On September 21, 1850,
Thomas & Jane Love, ages 34 & 35, lived in Hickman Co, TN. Their children were Joel, age 9; Samuel, 8; John, 7; Dianna, 6; Edom, 5; Clara, 3; & Sabra, 2.
Thomas was working as a laborer.
On August 25, 1860,
T.K. & Jane, ages 44, lived in District 2, Maury Co, TN. Their post office was located in "Isoms" store. They lived on a farm (personal wealth valued at $335) adjacent to his half-brother, John Love, age 40, a widower living with his children. John owned a farm valued at $1000 & had a personal wealth of $475.
Thomas & Jane's children were Joel, age 21; John, 17; Diana, 15; Edom, 13; Sabra, 12; Wm & M.A., 8; Lucretia, 6; & Thomas, 4.
Thomas & his older sons worked on the farm to help support the family.
Four of their children were married during the 1860's.

T.K. & Jane Love, ages 54, lived in District 14, Hickman Co, TN. They had a personal wealth of $160. The nearest post office was located in Centreville. Thomas & his son, Edom, farmed to her support the family.

Lucretia married John Kinner Pitner in 1875.
Virginia Jane died in October 1876. Shortly thereafter, Thomas & some of his children (William James, Sabra Love, Lucretia & husband, John, went to TX. They were living in Johnson Co, when William married Hettie Jane Williams on November 23, 1878.
On June 25/26, 1880,
Thomas K. Love, age 65, widowed, lived in Enumeration District 81, Johnson Co, TX. Other members of the household included his two daughters, Sabra E., 28, & Lucretia Pitney, 24, & her husband, John K. Pitney, 22. Thomas & John were farming to support the family. The census record indicated that Thomas's father was born in S.C.
On August 10, 1900,
Thomas, age 84 (born in TN on Jan. 1816), lived on a farm in Township 12, Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory with his daughter, Lucretia, 46 (TN Feb. 1854), & husband, John A. Pitner, 44 (AR Dec. 1855). Lucretia & John had been married 25 years; she had given birth to 4 children, but only two were living: William A.(AR Nov. 1887), age 12, & Alvin L., 6 (I.T. July 1893). Thomas's daughter, Sabry, age 55 (TN Nov. 1844). The year of her birth was actually 1848.
Thomas was no longer with the Pitners in Ti Township, Pittsburg Co, OK in 1910, so it is assumed that he was dead by this time.
On April 22/23, 1910,
John & Lucretia Pitner, age 51 & 54 (born in AR & TN), were renting a farm in Ti, Pittsburg Co, OK. They had been married 30 years; Lucretia had given birth to 4 children - 2 were living.
One son was William A., age 22, who was married to Myrtle, 18. They had been married that year. William & his wife were born in AR.
Another son was Alvin, 16 (born in OK).
Lucretia's sister, Sabra Love, age 61 (born in TN), single, lived with them.
