JACK D. ORADAT, age 82, of Fort Pierce, Florida, formerly of Marion, died at Noon Thursday, November 9, 2006, in Colonial Oaks Health Care Center, Marion.

JACK was born on June 8, 1924, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of the late Walter S. and Amelia (Collins) Oradat. His first wife, Mauldred Walthall of 25 years, preceded him in death on September 5, 1969. He married Rosie Columbus on March 1, 1970. She survives. He and his wife, Rosie, owned Rosies Little Italy in Marion.

JACK was an Army veteran serving during WWII as an M.P. and prison guard at Camp Rucker in Alabama.

He was a policeman at the Marion Police Department for 20 years, retiring in 1967. During his service, he worked in the Motorcycle Division, was a Detective and a Marion Public Health Officer. He was the oldest living retired policeman of the Marion Police Department. Also, while working at the Marion Police Department, he worked at Marion Trucking, Transport Motor Express, Brada Miller Trucking, Grant Distribution and Raven Funeral Home.

He was a 50 year member of the Samaritan Lodge #105, F&AM, a member of the Amvets and a member of the Holiday Rambler R.V. Club where he was a security guard.

Survivors include Wife, Rosie Oradat of Fort Pierce, Florida, his sons, Gary Oradat (Linda) of Marion, Indiana and Larry Oradat (Sam) of Marion, Indiana, his wife's children, Michael Pavlick (Judy) of Warsaw, Indiana and Rosie Alvarado (Jose) of Marion, Indiana, 13 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren & 3 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 13, 2006 in Raven-Choate Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park, Marion, Indiana.

Friends may call from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, November 12, at Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion, Indiana. Masonic Rites will be held at 6:00 p.m.
