Daughter of Wesley and Mary Jane Rowell Richardson, wife of William Henry Alford.


CONWAY - Mrs. Hattie Richardson Alford, 74, widow of William Henry Alford of the Gallivants Ferry section of Horry County, died at 3:50 a.m. Thursday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Albert Todd of Rt. 3, Conway, after a short illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Nebo Baptist Church, the Rev. Leroy Elvis and the Rev. Russell Aho officiating. Burial will be in the Brittons Neck Cemetery.

Mrs. Alford was born Oct. 30, 1883, in the Brittons Neck section of Marion County, a daughter of the late Wesley and Mary Jane Rowell Richardson. She was a member of the Nebo Baptist Church. Her husband died Nov. 18, 1955.

Surviving are a son, Jim Norton Alford of Gallivants Ferry; three daughters, Mrs. Albert (Janie) Todd of Conway, Mrs. Fred (Carrie) Woodberry of Hemingway, and Mrs. Freeman (Florrie) Baxley of Gallivants Ferry; a sister, Mrs. Stacie (Louie) Alford of Gallivants Ferry; 19 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
