Hustle, VA - Elizabeth Gordon Lumpkin, affectionately known as Peppi or Pep, was born March 12, 1925 in King George, VA to the late Andrew and Daisy Myers. She departed this life peacefully on May 6, 2009 at 1:30pm at the Riverside Tappahannock Hospital, Tappahannock, VA.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Owens and Helen Saunders; and one daughter, Linda Brent.

At an early age she accepted Christ and joined the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Supply, VA.

She received her formal education in King George County. She was formerly married to the late William Gardner. After his death she met and married Samuel Lumpkin on March 17, 1980.

She retired from Bell Atlantic after numerous years of service.

She loved baking, shopping, cooking and attending all types of church programs. She had a special love for her family and many friends.

Elizabeth leaves to cherish her husband Samuel Lumpkin; one daughter Joyce Ann Myers Brown; seven grandchildren, John Brent, Dellie Brent, Shirley Brent, Melissa (Lavar) Tune, Michelle (Darrell) Clements, Robyn Elizabeth (Baby Cakes) Brown, and Harold Brent, Sr.; five great-grandchildren, Kayla (Sweet Pea) Brent, Ayanna Tune, Madison Clements, Harold Brent, Jr. and Aryauna Brent; host of nieces,nephews, great nieces and family and friends.

Visitation held on Sunday, May 10, 2009, 2pm - 8pm, Cedell Brooks Funeral Home, 25662 A.P. Hill Blvd., Port Royal, VA 22535. Funeral service held on Monday, May 11, 2009, 12 Noon, Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 2548 Hustle Road, Hustle, VA 22476. Interment Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery, Supply, VA.
