Birth: Dec. 31, 1858
Pennsylvania, USA
Death: Apr. 16, 1943
Garvin County
Oklahoma, USA

He married Nancy Merriah Simmons September 1, 1880, in Lamar County, Texas.

George Clay Arnold was born December 31, 1858 at Wickes Barrey, Pennsylvania, fell asleep April 16, 1943 at his home in Stratford, at the age of 84 years, 3 months and 16 days. He was the father of ten children: lulu, Lennie, Minnie, Jenny, George, Carey, Infant Son, Pearl, Grace, and Ruth. Of these three remain.

He obeyed the Gospel while living in Indian Territory in the section now called Carter county. During his fifty years of Christian activities, he served as an elder at Tecumseh, Shawnee and Stratford.

Left to mourn his passing are his devoted wife, three daughters, Lulu, Pearl and Ruth, one sister, ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and a host of beloved friends and deciples of Christ.

Funeral rites were held in the Stratford Church of Christ Saturday afternoon. Three grandsons, who in early childhood lost their father by death (and who looked to Mr. Arnold as father,) had charge of the services. Joe W. Crumley, who is supported by the church at Port Arthur, Texas, to evangelize in Louisiana, led the singing; Vaughn Crumley, minister of the Konawa church, read the 23rd Psalm and offered the prayer; and Max Crumley, minister at Stephenville, Texas, gave the sermon.

Pall-bearers were Vaughn Crumley, Max Crumley, J. W. Crumley, Haskell Hooper, Jimmy Curlee and T. M. Cook.

Smith Funeral Home was in charge of the body, which was placed in the Memorial Park near Ada.

Funeral Visitors:

Out of town guest in the Arnold home to attend the funeral of G C Arnold were Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn Crumley and two children of Konawa, Mr. and Mrs. J. W.
