Edward D. McGloin Dies. Long active in politics. Widely known in North Dorchester and Andrew Sq. he died at his home, 749 Dorchester Ave. yesterday. He had been sick a long time.
Mr McGloin was one of the best known job printers in the city, having been employed for many years by Skelly Brothers in Park Sq.
Mr. McGloin was well known in the politics of old ward 16. When that ward ran from the village to the valley, and was regarded as next to the largest ward in the city so far as area was concerned. He was the manger of numerous candidates for the House of Representatives. Candidates sought his support. He had many friends all over the ward. It was said, who voted as "Eddie" McGloin urged them to vote. Mr McGloin was one of the founders of the Old Powhatan Club of Ward 16. Whose headquarters was on Boston St. and always arranged for the speakers to appear there.
It was Mr. McGloin who first introduced Ex-Mayor James M. Curley to the members of the Old Powhatan Club.
